

Each university in Edinburgh has its own freshers week events with a wide range of stalls, activities and nights out.

Heriot Watt
Herriot Watt hosts their "watt welcome fair" which as a range of society stalls, fun stalls like a plant and poster sale stall, merch stalls and advertisements. Heriot watts welcome week traditionally starts on the first week before university classes start. Top night out spots in freshers week for Heriot Watt students are their union 'Geordie's' and 'Frat Wednesdays' at 'Shanghai'.

Edinburgh Napier University
Napier's Welcome Week includes course introductions as well as different activities and events at each accommodation and campus. Society stalls, merch stalls, advertisements and nights out are all promoteded on its Freshers Fair, which usually takes place at the Corn Exchange. Napier's welcome week traditionally starts on the first week before classes start. ​Top night out spots during the freshers week for Napier students are their union 'three sisters' and 'Love Wednesday' at 'Whynot'.

University of Edinburgh
The University of Edinburgh's welcome week includes course introductions and a run through of your specific accommodation. The Freshers Fair usually happens in front of McEwan Hall, a week before classes start. Clubs and Societies will be represented and lots of merch and freebies can be found. Classic night out spots for University of Edinburgh students are 'Potterrow', 'Big Cheese' on a Friday night and 'Love Wednesday' at 'Whynot'.

Queen Margaret University
QMU of course hosts a welcome week as well. It includes course introductions, society stalls and merch. QMU's Freshers Week traditionally starts on the week before classes start. Top night out spots for QMU students are their local 'Maggies', 'Dropkicks' and 'Love Wednesday' at 'Whynot' as well.
